We time travelled one hour ahead today due to the time zone change of the ship's clock to match our next port of call that we are arriving tomorrow at, San Juan, Puerto Rico!

The weather is starting to warm up and many were out on deck enjoying the warmth of the tropical sun. Those out on deck would have seen this amazing rainbow right off the ship - this cruise is off to a great start!

Broadway Show: We Will Rock You

Anthem of the Seas offers We Will Rock You as their broadway show onboard, something we do not get to enjoy on Quantum as no broadway shows are offered there, and we took the opportunity to watch it this afternoon. This Oliver Award-winning musical have rocked over 6.5 million people in a record-breaking 12 years at London’s Dominion Theatre, and is written by Ben Elton, featuring tunes such as “Radio Ga Ga”, “I want to Break Free”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and of course, “We Will Rock You”

Amongst these rock elements was the fun and light comedy that kept the show flowing amongst the beats of the live band situated above the audience.

This was a show that you should not miss if you are sailing aboard Anthem of the Seas.

Theatre Health Protocols

Royal Theatre PHOTO: SINGAPORE CRUISE SOCIETY

This is where the experience differs from Singapore-based sailings. We noticed the following during our time at the Royal Theatre.

  • Fully Vaccinated Guests can sit on Deck 4, without the need for masks, without social distancing between travel parties

  • Everyone else must only sit on Deck 5 Balcony, where masks are mandatory and should sit with sufficient distancing between travel parties.

  • Bar service was active, with bartender walking around before the show taking orders

This was hugely similar to pre-pandemic experiences and we are very glad to see this back to how it used to be.

Down the Rabbit Hole at Wonderland

In the evening, we looked for Alice for a table at her Wonderland Restaurant to bring us the imaginative cuisine that she promised all onboard the Anthem of the Seas. This gastronomical experience themed after the Alice in Wonderland movie brings guests on a journey to taste 5 earthly elements.

However, it is interesting to note that here on Anthem of the Seas, those paint kits that we use to reveal the menu are no longer used, with normal paper menus replacing them instead.

We allowed our waiters to decide on the menu for us, while requesting additional servings of the Liquid Lobsters straight away.

Short Ribs and Halibut were our main course.

Desserts we ordered the classic ‘The World’ and ‘The Forbidden Apple’, along with some cotton candy.
